Mystery as python named Wolverine found on Walmart shelf by stunned shopper as city probes how it got into store

WALMART shoppers were left stunned after spotting a PYTHON on a store shelf.
A shopper found the snake, named Wolverine, "chillin" on a shelf at a Bloomington, Indiana, Walmart on April 11.
The python was handed over to staff at the City of Bloomington Animal Care and Control, where he was duly named Wolverine.
The animal control center said it is unclear how the snake ended up in the Walmart store, but have yet to get any answers as, they say, “Wolverine isn't talking!”
The center added that they are close to finding a forever home for Wolverine after his story hit the news.
“Happy Tuesssssssday. Meet our little friend, Wolverine," the center shared on April 19." This young python was found at our local Walmart chillin’ on a shelf.
“It’s unclear how he got there, but it was a good thing a Good Samaritan saw him and got him to safety at the shelter.
The statement continued: “He is officially off his stray hold and he’s in the market for a forever home! He would do best with an experienced snake owner.
“He’s a bit stressed and slightly spicy. He is growing used to the thought of being handled and will likely be able to relax more in a calmer environment.”
However, not everyone was interested in adopting Wolverine.

"No thank you. I hate snakes," read one comment.
"Let the snake lovers have him," added another.
Still, in an update later the same day, the control center said: Wolverine has "MANY potential adopters" and as a result is no longer listed as available on their website.
While the center's staff say they understand snakes can be scary to many, especially when found in a public space, Wolverine and all living creatures should be treated respectfully.
“We believe all living creatures, even those we do not understand or those that may cause fear, deserve to be treated with kindness and respect," read their statement.
“We believe, Wolverine, will make a wonderful companion to the right family and we also believe he very much deserves that option," they added.
While intimidating, pythons are non-venomous snakes usually found in tropical and subtropical areas.
