Santa Ana Century High School baseball player shot dead and another hurt as cops hunt suspect

TWO high school baseball players have been shot, one fatally, according to police, who are searching for the suspect.

The student-athletes, who are cousins, were reportedly sitting inside a car when a suspect approached them on foot and started shooting.

The shooting happened on Thursday evening in Santa Ana, .

Roberto Izelo, 19, was the victim killed, per the Orange County Coroner’s Office.

The injured victim, an 18-year-old, has not been identified.

He was taken to the hospital and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Both teenagers are students at Santa Ana's Century High School.

There were three students in the car when the shooting happened, according to officials.

Police released footage that they say shows the suspect crossing a street.

However, they have not released a detailed description of them yet.

A motive for the shooting has not been released.

Officials say an investigation is ongoing.
