FUGITIVES UNDERCOVER

Vicky White cops probe wild theory 6ft 9 convict lover Casey may be disguised in ‘WIG and wheelchair’

VICKY White's ex-staffer says she "has a dark side" as cops probe a theory that her convict lover, Casey White, may be using a wig and a wheelchair.

Vicky and Casey, who are not related despite sharing a last name, went missing from an Alabama jail on April 29. Cops continue to warn that both should be considered armed and dangerous.

Vicky may have been seen in a Kohl's department store purchasing men's clothing. Others claim to have seen the woman enter an adult store before her disappearance.

The news comes as the District Attorney's Office is working on a probe that the duo could be disguised.

It is possible that Vicky is pushing Casey in a wheelchair and has dressed him as a woman. The District Attorney believes this may limit the impact of people noticing Casey's 6-foot 9-inch frame, Brian Entin reports.

The duo might also be changing their disguises.

ONE STEP AHEAD

News of Vicky's disappearance is in stark contrast to her work as an assistant director of corrections in Lauderdale County, Alabama.

"When this happened, it was such a shock," said Chris Connolly, Lauderdale County District Attorney. Connolly worked with Vicky for 16 years.

"She was not a big talker ... but got things done," Connolly told NewsNation. He doesn't believe she and Casey are still in the local area.

"I can’t see her as smart as she is held up somewhere around here," Connolly said.

Another former co-worker of Vicky's, Tyson Johnson, said the woman has a "dark side." He doesn't think she'll be found.

"She is calculated enough that she has thought this entire thing out," the former employee told NewsNation. "She definitely outsmarted the sheriff. She outsmarted the administrator of the jail."

As she was second-in-command at her jail, no one questioned the protocol breach the morning of the duo's disappearance.

Authorities believe Vicky is using her knowledge of procedures to stay one step ahead of investigators, NewsNation reports.

Johnson also said the photos being shared of Vicky aren't accurate, saying the photos are too bright on her face and don't show her true age.

"It's not showing the true her," Johnson said.

ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP

The sheriff, meanwhile, confirmed Vicky and Casey were having a romantic relationship.

Vicky was divorced and lived with her ex-husband until his death earlier this year from Parkinson's disease. The couple did not have kids.

Family of her ex-husband told The US Sun he would be "worried to death" about the fugitive guard as she remains at large.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton wonders if Vicky was "grief stricken."

Her mother, Pat, lived right next door and said "this is not the daughter she knew."

Through the investigation, detectives learned that Vicky sold her home a month ago for $90,000 - which was under market price - and was set to retire from her job as a high-ranking female corrections officer on the day the two disappeared.

It is also believed that she went to various banks to withdraw additional cash.

'CASEY WANTED TO DIE'

Casey's former attorney, Dale Bryant, says the 38-year-old suffers from mental illness.

“When he gets out of incarceration, he is unable to stay on his medication and he even self medicates by smoking methamphetamine or taking other illegal substances," Bryant told .

When Casey was arrested in 2015, Bryant says he "wanted to die."

"He was trying to get the officers to shoot him and that is kind of my fear, how this situation is going to end."

Casey was awaiting trial at the Lauderdale jail when he disappeared. He was already serving time for a 2015 crime spree that involved home invasion, carjacking, and a police chase, according to the US Marshals.

FUGUTIVES ON THE RUN

Vicky reportedly told her colleagues around 9am that she was taking Casey White, a murder suspect, to the county courthouse for a mental health evaluation.

She also told her coworkers that she felt ill and planned to see a doctor afterward.

No one realized that the two were missing until around 3.30pm.

Both Casey and Vicky are considered fugitives after the sheriff's squad car they left the jail in was found in the parking lot of a local shopping center, with both Whites nowhere in sight.

"The subjects should be considered dangerous and may be armed with an AR-15 rifle, handguns, and a shotgun," the  said in a Tuesday news release.

At this point, authorities do not know the duo's whereabouts.

The US Marshals Service is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to the capture of Casey White, and up to $5,000 for Vicky White's apprehension.
