Inside Calum von Moger’s injury struggles and legal battle before bodybuilder ‘mysteriously jumped through window’

FORMER Mr Universe Calum von Moger struggled with injuries and legal battles before he mysteriously jumped through a window on May 6.

The Australian bodybuilder, 31, has been left fighting for his life after he reportedly plunged from a second floor window days after sharing an emotional message with his fans.

Calum, perhaps best known for playing young Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 2018 film “Bigger," is currently recovering after severely injuring his spine, according to .

Aside from his roles in "Bigger" and "Generation Iron 2," Calum released a documentary on Netflix in 2019 titled "Calum von Moger: Unbroken."

In the documentary, Calum, once dubbed "Arnold 2.0," opens up about his bodybuilding journey, which ended with a serious knee and bicep injury he suffered while rappelling.

"I was pretty broken - pretty heartbroken," he says on the film, adding that he lost his home to wildfires the same year, as reported by .

"This year was the most challenging, I had these terrible injuries, the house, the fires, so many things that are trying to knock me off my feet - it's either going to make ya or break ya."

Trouble continued for Calum earlier this year, as he was charged with affray, criminal injury and possession of drugs, including cannabis, ice and testosterone in Australia, per the . 

He has also has brushes with the law over incidents of road rage and carrying a weapon, according to Generation Iron.

Bodybuilder and Youtuber Nick Trigilli has claimed that Calum was in a "rough spot" and under the influence of drugs when he jumped through the window.

"I hope this is rock bottom for him and he can get his life back," Trigilli said. 

It's unclear where the incident took place but Calum had recently been kicked out of his family home in Australia, per various reports.

Calum had shared an emotional post on Instagram before the incident on May 6.

“Everyone has a past. We’ve all been through hard times. I admit, I messed up bad many times," he wrote.

“But I don’t care about dwelling on negative thoughts of the past. All I care about is that I learn from my mistakes and become a better person.

“The positive achievements I’ve done in my life far outweigh the muck-ups I had along the way.

“All I can ask is for your forgiveness so I can keep moving forward on the right path again.”

The famous bodybuilder also previously spoke about his use of steroids in a video posted on his YouTube channel, according to .

Calum claimed he didn't use steroids until he was 21, when a mentor reportedly told him, “if you want a place in the top five (in the open division), you have to take steroids.”

Following news of the window fall, fans took to social media to pour out their support and well-wishes to the bodybuilder.

“Praying for you man,” wrote one fan under Calum’s most recent Instagram post. “You were my first inspiration with fitness and I’m hoping you get through these hard times.”
