Elon Musk reveals he’s ‘leaning toward’ Ron DeSantis for president in 2024 after voting for 1st Republican Mayra Flores

ELON Musk has said he's leaning towards backing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the 2024 presidential election.
The Tesla mogul tweeted that he had voted Republican for the first time in the Texas special election that was held on Tuesday.
Mayra Flores is projected to win the special election in the state’s 34th congressional district, flipping a long-time Democratic seat.
Musk tweeted: “I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican.”
He predicted that there will be a "massive red wave" in 2022.
The revelation sparked a flurry of comments online, with one asking who Musk was "leaning toward" ahead of 2024.

He replied: "DeSantis".
Musk revealed he backed Andrew Yang in the 2020 election but said DeSantis has a “better chance of winning” in 2024.
DeSantis has consistently swatted away speculation that he may launch a bid for the White House.
He was quizzed on Fox and Friends last weekend and replied: “The interesting thing about me is people will always inject my name into it, just based off what I’m doing in Florida.”

He said there was a “huge opportunity” in the midterms for a red wave.
A straw poll conducted by the in Colorado revealed that 71 per cent of those surveyed supported DeSantis running.
He was four percentage points ahead of Trump.
And, a poll conducted by the conservative radio station WBOB, which surveyed 700 people, saw DeSantis outperform Trump by 53 to 47.
But, DeSantis downplayed the impact of surveys as he remained coy about his future aspirations.
He said: “I don’t do straw polls. They just put my name into these things, you know? It’s just, like, so what am I supposed to do?

“Like they sell merchandise and everything. I kind of would like to get royalties on that.”
And, despite the speculation, Trump hasn't launched his 2024 campaign for the presidency.
Last April, he told Sean Hannity that he's "beyond seriously" considering running again as he missed helping people.
Rumors have surfaced that the former commander-in-chief could launch his campaign in Florida in a bid to gain an advantage over DeSantis.
A source told that Trump is determined to show DeSantis “who the boss is” in the Republican Party.
Trump’s spokesperson declined to comment on the record when approached by the outlet.
Musk’s revelation comes just weeks after he verbally committed to voting for the GOP in the next election.
He told the hosts of the All In podcast: "I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically. Like I'm not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear.”
He claimed the Democrats are controlled by the unions and lawyers.

Musk called unions “another form of monopoly,” - a dig at labor groups that are currently engaged in against large companies such as Amazon and Starbucks.
But, he blasted Republicans for their tendency toward “religious zealotry”.
