Warning over former legal high ‘Spice’ which is sweeping London causing psychotic breakdowns and seizures

A POTENTIALLY-deadly strain of cannabis that has withdrawal symptoms 'worse than heroin or crack' is sweeping through London, officials warned.
Growing numbers of Londoners are becoming hooked on the drug called Spice.
Commonly known as 'fake weed' the former legal high has been reported to cause nausea, hallucinations and even seizures.
It is thought to be particularly popular among the city's homeless because of its relative cheapness.
reported that nearly 500 of the capital's homeless were found to be using the drug in a recent survey.

It has also proved popular among students and clubbers.
The strain was thought to be virtually non-existent just two years ago
And Westminster Council Chiefs are now calling for a crackdown on the drug.
Cllr Nickie Aiken, Cabinet Member for Public Protection, Westminster City Council, told the Standard: "Spice is cheap, readily available and highly addictive.
"So it’s little wonder our support services are seeing an increase in the number of users.
"In just two years a new drug epidemic has taken over the streets of London.
"It is devastating to see rough sleepers unable to move forward with their lives because of an addiction."
