A 13-year-old girl has been arrested after allegedly contacting a clown on social media and asking it to kill her teacher.
America has been hit by a spate of creepy clown sightings in recent weeks, including terrifying reports of people dressed as clowns threatening and robbing people.
Police have now said a 13-year-old girl from Hampton, Virginia, America, is suspected of reaching out to an individual on social media, who was using a clown image as their profile picture.
The teenager allegedly asked the user to kill a teacher at her middle school, reported.
On Sunday evening police reportedly received a call about threats being made on social media.
A girl was subsequently arrested and charged with threatening to kill by an electronic message.
Police have said the teacher has been contacted and was not harmed.
Security at the school has been increased, but cops said there is no indication of further threats.

In a statement, the school said: "In an effort to share accurate information, I would like to provide you with the following facts.
"Last night, a Davis Middle School student was arrested for making a threat on social media against one of our teachers.
"No one has been harmed, and the student is in a secured detention facility. At this time, there is no evidence to indicate a threat against others."
A few days earlier cops increased security at schools in Newport News and Hampton due to social media threats involving clowns, DailyPress has reported.
In September The Sun revealed an epidemic of creepy clowns attempting to scare or abduct children, as well as robbing and threatening people.
In the weeks since further sightings have been reported across the US.
The US craze has reportedly spread to the UK with Northumbria Police hunting sick pranksters scaring schoolchildren by dressing up as clowns and jumping out as them.
