El Rey grocery store shooting leaves security guard and theft suspect dead after gun battle in Milwaukee parking lot

A SECURITY guard and a theft suspect have been killed in a shooting outside a Milwaukee grocery store.
A shootout erupted in the parking lot outside the El Rey grocery store at around 10:25am on Saturday, police say.

Authorities did not say who shot first, or how many shots were fired.

Witnesses told the Journal Sentinal that the incident started inside the grocery store, before spilling outside.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed two people were fatally shot at the store.
Officials have not commented on the condition of the person transported to the hospital.
