SSE dished out £3.7million to its top staff while E.On, EDF, Scottish Power and nPower paid theirs £12.5m between them.

NPOWER chief executive Paul Coffey has the smallest annual pay packet of the Big Six bosses at £320,000.
He lives in a £500,000 townhouse in the Cotswolds.
In March nPower announced 2,400 job cuts, a fifth of its workforce.
Last December it was fined £26million for sending late and inaccurate bills to customers.
Mark Hodges, CEO British Gas
BRITISH Gas CEO Mark Hodges has an income of £936,000, plus a £1.6million share award.
His detached mansion on a private road in Norwich is worth £1.2million.
Mr Hodges was the first major hire of Centrica boss Iain Conn.
He is from the insurance industry, having worked at Aviva for 20 years.
