Dramatic Grimsby siege ends as ‘armed woman’ surrenders after cops surround house

A WOMAN has been arrested after a dramatic stand-off with armed cops lasting several hours.
Police were called to an address in Grimsby, North-East Lincs, after reports of a woman brandishing a firearm.
Around five police armed response units, four ambulance teams, a helicopter and a police dog unit were present at the scene.
A police negotiator was also called in as cops sealed off the area.
Officers are understood to have taken to the street at around 1pm today, but the tense stand-off went on for more than three hours.
Dramatic pictures showed gun cops taking aim as dozens of emergency services workers swarmed the street.
Humberside Police have now confirmed the suspect was arrested shortly before 4.15pm and is currently in police custody, adding that she would be interviewed shortly.
The suspect was pictured being led from the house in handcuffs by armed officers.

She was then taken to a waiting ambulance and checked over by paramedics, before being taken into custody.
Cops said the woman’s relatives had been informed of her condition, but added that nobody was hurt in the incident.
Local residents told the that police had visited the rented property a few days before the incident, after reports of a man “laid out in drunken state” in the front garden.
A police spokesman said: "Roads around Portland Place in Grimsby are now open following the peaceful conclusion of a firearms incident that had been ongoing for a number of hours.
"A woman was arrested shortly before 4.15pm and is now in police custody.
"She will be interviewed in due course.
"Nobody has been hurt as a result of the incident.
"We would like to thank the local community for their co-operation and patience whilst we dealt with the matter and express our appreciation to all those affected this afternoon."
