The man arrested and remanded in jail after appearing before a judge in a closed court hearing has been described as an Argentinian-born Spaniard.

Nobody was available for comment yesterday morning at the tattoo parlour where the alleged sexual assault occurred, a popular place with tourists near to the party resort of San Antonio.

It was thought the woman who sparked the police probe that led to the suspect’s arrest had phoned cops in Scotland while in Ibiza.

But a police source said: “She alerted police in Scotland when she returned home and they passed the information on to police in Spain to investigate.”
