Flounders wrote: "About time !!! NOT GUILTY. Team Ched..."

She later added: "I can't put into words how happy I am for Natasha & Ched !!! They can now carry on as a family knowing his name is cleared!"

The 26-year-old, who has a daughter with the convicted footballer, has previously tweeted messages of support for the former Wales and Manchester City forward.

Adam Johnson, who was jailed for six years for sexual activity with a besotted 15-year-old fan, lost an appeal against his own conviction in July.

Ched Evans was today found not guilty of raping a teenage waitress in a hotel room.

The former Wales and Manchester City forward has had his conviction overturned after insisting sex with the 19-year-old woman was consensual.

Evans, 27, said he walked into a room at a Premier Inn hotel to find fellow footballer Clayton McDonald having sex with the woman.

The Chesterfield striker said McDonald asked her whether he could join and she replied “yes”.

Cardiff Crown Court heard she was too drunk too give consent and Evans treated the victim with “utter contempt”.

But a jury found Evans not guilty of rape following a two week trial.

Prosecutors branded Evans “callous and self centred” when he had sex with her in the hotel in Rhuddlan, North Wales in May 2011.

Simon Medland QC the jury: “Ched Evans couldn’t have cared less if the girl wanted sex with him or not.

“This wealthy, successful young footballer felt entitled to have her and did so regardless to what she may have wanted.

“This was rape and not consensual sex.”

Mr Medland told the jury Evans raped the girl when she was so drunk she was “all over the place”.

He said: “She had been brought to that hotel in a taxi but on the way the man who brought her there – Clayton McDonald – had alerted his friend Ched Evans that he had ‘got a bird’.

“It was then Evans decided to go to the hotel.”

Mr Medland said Evans then “blagged his way” into the hotel room and began having sex with the girl.

“Did she know Ched Evans was even in the room?” Mr Medland asked.

But Judy Khan QC, defending, said: “He cheated on his girlfriend that night. That’s not particularly moral behaviour, but none of that makes him a rapist.

“This is not a case about morality or immorality and you won’t judge him because his behaviour was ungallant or immoral.

“Drunken consent is nevertheless still consent.

“While disinhibited through drink the woman did consent to sex, firstly with Clayton McDonald and then with Ched Evans.”

Prosecutors say the complainant was too drunk to consent to sex and awoke hours later confused and alone in the room.

Evans was originally found guilty after a trial four years ago but the conviction was quashed by the Court of Appeal.

It has today emerged Evans' partner Natasha Massey "bribed" a key witness with £50,000 for evidence to clear him.

Natasha Massey, 27, sent a Facebook message about the huge cash reward to hotel receptionist Gavin Burrough - and signed it with a kiss.

Prosecuting barrister Simon Medland QC said the "subtle and repeated" five-figure sum was "akin to a bribe".

The jury at Evans' retrial was not told about the Facebook messages after the judge ruled them inadmissible.
