Incredible video shows ‘meteor’ plunging to Earth over South Wales pier

A FLAMING "meteor" scorched through the skies over Wales yesterday evening.
The unidentified mystery object was spotted near Penarth, South Wales.
It appeared at dusk with a smokey tail of fire and dust following behind it.
The object appears to be a meteor from outer space, but it has not yet been formally identified.
Mark James, who captured the footage, "It was about 6.40pm and I was on top of the hill leading up to Penarth town.
"I thought it was a flare from the RNLI."
The mysterious sighting coincides with the start of the Orionids Meteor Shower.
The astronomical phenomenon gets its name from the Orion, a constellation which lies in the sky above the equator.
