Exploding Galaxy Note 7 smartphones are now a WEAPON in Grand Theft Auto and Samsung’s not happy

SAMSUNG is reportedly trying to get online videos showing exploding Galaxy Note 7s on a popular video game taken down.
Clips from Grand Theft Auto V have been appearing on YouTube showing the fire-prone smartphones being used as weapons.
Stills from the clips – many of which have been removed from the site – show players in the first person game holding the branded phones in their virtual hands.
The clips go on to show the mobiles exploding in a ball of CGI fire after they are thrown at people and vehicles.
Gamers achieved the effect by downloading an update for the game, allowing users to swap sticky bombs for the defective mobile devices.
But Samsung have caused fury among YouTubers after apparently filing copyright claims against accounts posting the comical clips.
One YouTube channel Modded Games – whose clip was viewed more than a million times – published a notification from the site informing it that the video had been taken down, reports.
The reason given was a copyright complaint by Samsung Electronics America and law firm Paul Hastings.

The video has since been restored after the channel issued a counter-claim.
But many have reacted angrily to the smartphone giant’s attempts to block the comical parody videos.
US gamer ‘DoctorGTA’ complained: “It's going to take three months to get the strike removed from my channel...I got my live stream taken away.
“If I submit a counter-notification to say 'sue me', I wonder what they will do?
“Will they sue me – the kid that has cancer and just makes money off YouTube playing a video game?"
“It really sucks because I really worked hard on this channel.”
Some have now warned Samsung that its efforts to get the video taken down might only serve to increase publicity surrounding the case, drawing more attention to the clips.
There have since been dozens of memes and comical parodies poking fun at Samsung’s expensive mistake.
Among them was a hilarious smouldering Galaxy Note 7 Halloween costume with “smoke” coming out of Samsung boxes attached to a t-shirt.
