Rush hour services between Paddington and Reading suspended after person hit by train
Disruption to services expected until 6.30pm

COMMUTERS travelling between Paddington and Reading face cancellations and long delays after a person was hit by a train.
The person was hit by a train at Twyford just before 4pm and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Trains between Paddington and Reading have been cancelled or delayed by up to 90 minutes.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "We have been called to Twyford station after reports that a person was struck by a train.
"Police were alerted just after 3.45pm.
"Officers are on scene alongside paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service, however a person has sadly been pronounced dead."
National Rail has advised: “There is no firm estimate yet of how long the line will be blocked, but it is likely to continue until at least 5pm.
“When the line reopens, trains may be delayed until at least 6.30pm, as services return to normal.”

Great Western Railway has said: "Chiltern Railways, Cross Country, South West Trains and London Underground are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
"Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys."
British Transport Police officers are working to identify the person and inform their family.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
