Police have arrested a teenager on suspicion of attempted murder

A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed outside a school.

The injured boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the stomach and leg near The Phoenix Collegiate in West Bromwich at around 2.30pm on January 31.

The teenager’s injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening, according to police.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy yesterday (1 February) on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed in West Bromwich.

“This is in relation to an incident in Clarkes Lane on 31 January.

"He remains in custody at this time while investigations continue."

Locals reported seeing cops, paramedics and a helicopter outside the school following the shocking incident.
