Amazing slug-like critter stuns lucky diver off the coast of Bali
THIS alien-like creature found scampering along the sea bed with its 13 LEGS left a diver baffled.
The slimy critter with a bulbous ballooning head was filmed off the coast of Bali -- and the video also had viewers puzzled.
But experts have now revealed that the slug-like critter is just that -- a rare sea slug called a melibe viridis.
Most typically found in the Indian and Pacific oceans, the creepy critter can grow over five inches long, the reports.
And its amazing expanding head is not just a party trick -- because its actually the way it EATS.
It uses the balloon like a fishing net to scoop up smaller creatures from the water.
And because it's completely blind the hood helps it navigate its way across the sea bed.
Although it looks like it is walking across the sea floor, what it's actually doing is swimming by slithering side to side.
Its rarity was made clear when Youtuber Tha Jee posted the amazing video online.
Viewers hazarded several guesses as to what the creature could be.
Twas Brillig said: "A type of nudibranch or sea cucumber is my guess," while Joe Gonzalez said: "Look like it belongs to the star fish family but I have no clue."
