Oscar Pistorius moved to new prison after complaining bath tubs weren’t good enough

Shamed Paralympian Pistorius will now benefit from better facilities for his disabled needs

OSCAR Pistorius has been moved to a new jail after demanding one with better bath tubs, it was revealed today.

The 29-year-old double leg amputee was transferred after telling prison chiefs washing facilities were inadequate for his disability needs.

Shamed track star Pistorius - who shot to paralympic stardom on carbon fibre blades - is serving a six-year prison term for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius had been serving time in the tough Kgosi Mampuru II prison in Pretoria which had only basic washing facilities.

But has now been moved to the nearby Atteridgeville Correctional Centre which recently revamped its facilities for disabled lags.

South Africa’s Department of Correctional Services confirmed the move yesterday amid continuing concern that the Blade Runner’s sentence was too lenient for the horrific gun killing.

The fallen hero’s transfer came just a month after officials confirmed he had been secretly freed to join his family at a boutique hotel for a memorial service for his grandmother.

Authorities allowed him out for four hours under armed guard because he was viewed “low risk.”

His sentence was increased to six years last July on appeal when he found guilty of murdering stunning model and law graduate in his toilet Reeva, 29, on Valentine’s Day, 2013.
