Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough almost entirely closed to visitors after norovirus outbreak

A HOSPITAL has closed virtually all of its wards to visitors after an outbreak of the "winter vomiting bug" norovirus.
However, the hospital in Farnborough, Greater London, is still functioning as normal.
A hospital spokesman said: "We know how quickly the virus can spread.
"Closing all wards to visitors is a step we are taking to control the virus, and to prevent it spreading further."
Meanwhile, the hospital is prepared to make special considerations for families of patients in a critical condition.
The spokesman added: "Our top priority is the safety and well being of all patients and we are taking this precaution to prevent the virus from spreading in the hospital and the local community.
"We are carrying out regular deep cleans of all wards, and staff are being extra vigilant around hand washing and other infection control procedures.
"The situation is being reviewed regularly, and we will update this message when it changes.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the ward closures."
Earlier this month, popular Mexican chain Wahaca was forced to close nine restaurants when staff and diners were struck down by the bug.
