'FORMAL BUT FUN'

Where is Prince Harry stopping on the Royal Caribbean Tour and which countries are celebrating independence?

The latest Royal tour is undertaken by Prince Harry to the Caribbean as he visits countries on a trip billed as formal but fun.

The Prince was asked to spend 15 days touring the island nations on behalf of the Queen, on his second official visit to the Caribbean.

What has he done so far?

He arrived yesterday in Antigua to a red carpet and sunshine to start a tour he has reportedly been looking forward to for months.

The governor general welcomed Prince Harry with a reception at the recently restored Clarence House, before Harry re-opened the building.

He read out a message from the Queen where she spoke of "fond memories" of visiting the island.

He also congratulated his grandparents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, on their 69th wedding anniversary.

He also made an unscheduled stop at Nelson's Dockyard, a Unesco World Heritage Site, where Admiral Lord Nelson was based for four years.

What else he is doing, and where will he visit?

The build up to this Royal tour has been overshadowed by the revelation of the Prince's relationship with actress Meghan Markel, who is best known for her role in US drama Suits.

Kensington Palace have billed the tour as having a "formal feel" but with "plenty of fun", which fits the character of the Prince which the world has become familiar with.

In a previous tour to Jamaica he famously raced Usain Bolt.

Over the course of the tour the 32-year-old will visit six countries where the Queen is head of state.

These are Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

He will also tour the Commonwealth nation of Guyana, as both Barbados and Guyana mark 50 years since their independence.

Antigua and Barbuda celebrate the 35th year since independence.

What is the aim of his visit?

A Kensington Palace spokesman has said of the tour: "The visit will see Prince Harry carry out a wide variety of engagements across the seven countries, from official anniversary ceremonies and meeting with inspiring conservationists and young leaders, to engaging with well-known cultural figures and national sporting stars, to seeing the impressive work of a number of important local organisations and charities.

"His Royal Highness will pay special attention to issues which are common throughout the region, and will learn how each country and local community is responding to these challenges.

"Prince Harry will experience first-hand the importance placed on protecting the environment and conservation; including vital turtle conservation projects on the white sands of Nevis, and the replanting of the coral reefs in the seas that surround Grenada.

"His Royal Highness will see how projects across the Caribbean encourage and support young people to thrive, particularly through sport, but also through social projects and the military.

"In addition to this, on Her Majesty's behalf, Prince Harry will unveil a number of dedications to The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy, a global forestry project which invites Commonwealth countries to dedicate indigenous forest to be preserved in perpetuity for future generations."
