Supermarket Morrisons gives big £25,000 boost to our Smiles at Christmas campaign

SUPERMARKET Morrisons last night gave a huge boost to The Sun’s Smiles at Christmas campaign.
We received £25,000 from the Morrisons Foundation, the store’s charity arm.
British Gas owners Centrica have also piled in with a sizeable five-figure sum.
Their big donations came as Corrie star Simon Gregson backed our campaign by attending a Scotty’s Little Soldiers party — one of the causes we are helping.
Last night Morrisons Foundation trustee David Scott said: “We want to use our funds to make a difference and we believe The Sun’s campaign will improve the lives of many children this Christmas.”
And Iain Conn, Centrica Group CEO, said: “The Sun’s campaign does brilliant work helping children for whom this time of year is not a happy time and we are proud to support it.” Smiles at Christmas is raising cash and toys for needy kids this festive season.

Our four good causes were picked to help those who deserve the most help.
As well as Scotty’s Little Soldiers, Children With Cancer give millions every year to research and are battling to get “personalised” treatment for every kid by 2020.
And Women’s Aid has over 220 services which help domestic violence victims in refuges across Britain. The money donated will be distributed between all four important charities.
The greatest gift to a needy child could be that one toy a Sun reader gives to the cause. They can be handed over at Toys R Us branches or McColl’s.
