Shocking moment petrol station worker is mowed down as driver makes off without paying

THIS is the shocking moment a brave petrol station worker is mowed down trying to stop a driver from making off without paying.
Michelle Carr was left with extensive bruising after she was thrown from the bonnet of the silver Mazda as it sped off from a Jet garage in Barnsley, South Yorks, yesterday.
The 46-year-old had approached the motor on the forecourt after staff became suspicious that the driver had filled up more than the car’s capacity.
After replacing the nozzle and getting back inside the vehicle, which contained one male passenger, the driver then raced straight at Michelle, sending her crashing to the floor, landing on the back of her shoulder and neck.
Station manager Debi Beardshall said: “I was on holiday yesterday but as soon as I heard what happened to Michelle, I had come and see if she was OK.
"If I had been there, I would have told her to have not gone out to the car but you never expect someone to try and run you over.
“She could see he had drums in his back and had been filling them up with petrol rather than the car.

"He could have reversed and got away but he decided to go straight through her.
“Michelle is still in shock from it all. I think she keeps wondering what could have happened.
"If she had not put her hands up, she could have been dragged underneath the car.”
The footage, which was posted on Facebook, has been viewed nearly 100,000 times by shocked users in an attempt to find the culprit.
The driver is sporting a black baseball cap and grey top, while the passenger has on a grey wool hat and blonde hair.
The incident has been reported to South Yorkshire Police who are investigating.
They have been approached for comment and we are awaiting a response.
