FLASHING MEADOWS

We own a farm shop that’s being ruined by people posing topless in the sunflower field for Instagram

A FARM shop has pleaded with customers to stop stripping in its sunflower crop to take nude photos.

Hordes of women have been going topless, using the big blooms to protect their modesty.

The flowers are a symbol of the true-life Calendar Girls story — adapted into a 2003 film starring Helen Mirren and Julie Walters.

But the tributes by social media users have seen Stoke Fruit Farm on Hayling Island, Hants, remind sunflower pickers that nudity is banned.

The business wrote on Facebook: “We are having an increase of reports of naked photography taking place and this must not happen during our public sessions please.”

Visitor Sarah-Jane Cruddas said her young son had come across a woman wearing nothing but a skimpy thong last Thursday.

She wrote: “Our son got a right eyeful — should have seen his face!”

And an abandoned black bra was advertised as lost property for collection by shop staff.

The sunflower fields previously hosted an official charity photoshoot inspired by the film and stage musical, which sees women pose tastefully nude to raise funds for cancer.

Farm shop director Sam Wilson said: “I think it’s a shame the fun of taking a few risky photos is being challenged by this blatant nudity in our family field.”

He added: “We ask anyone who wants to visit our fields to check the website and keep their clothes on!”
