Donald Trump says he will be arrested later this week as ex-president slams bombshell 2020 election interference charges

DONALD Trump has said that he will be arrested on Thursday over his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
Trump made the proclamation on Monday night while bashing the conspiracy and racketeering charges that he was hit with last week.
"Can you believe it? I’ll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be arrested by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime disasters in American History," Trump .
"In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for 'murder,' but for making a perfect phone call! She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this witch hunt."
Last week, the former president was indicted on several conspiracy charges, soliciting a public official to violate their oath, making false statements and writings, and violating Georgia's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) law.
Speaking at a news conference last week, Fulton County District Attorney Willis gave Trump until Friday, August 25 to voluntarily turn himself in.
The Fulton County Sheriff's Office said that once Trump surrenders, there will be a "hard lockdown" of the area around the county jail.
Trump's bond has been set at $200,000, according to court papers filed on Monday.
The bond agreement prohibits the former president from intimidating co-defendants, witnesses, or victims in the case on social media, .
This also includes "reports of posts" made by others.

FOURTH INDICTMENT IN MONTHS
Last week's indictment marks the fourth the former president, 77, has faced this year alone.
Prosecutors had been investigating Trump and his allies since December 2020 to determine if they broke state laws in their bid to keep him in power after the 2020 presidential election.
It was unsealed on August 14, revealing that Trump and 18 other defendants face charges related to efforts to overturn the .
The indictment lists 41 charges against the 19 defendants.
The indictment claims that the defendants "unlawfully conspired and endeavored to conduct and participate in criminal enterprise in Fulton County, Georgia, and elsewhere."
All of the defendants face racketeering charges.
The indictment also includes charges for forgery, perjury, influencing witnesses, solicitation of state legislatures, and high-ranking state officials, as well as the creation and distribution of false electoral college documents.
Willis has said that she plans to try all 19 defendants in the same trial.
After surrendering to authorities, the defendants are expected to be booked in Fulton County jail.
