City with Britain’s grottiest pubs revealed – do you live in the danger zone?

A CITY has been crowned home to Britain's grottiest boozers, hygiene ratings suggest.
Hundreds of pubs and eateries across the UK were inspected under strict sanitary standards.
But in recent hygiene scores one city proved to have the grimiest establishments.
Health chiefs have crowned Birmingham the city with the filthiest boozers and restaurants in the country.
Venues are often inspected based on food handling and safety and cleanliness of facilities according to legal standards.
Food inspectors give businesses a rating from five to zero which is displayed at the premises and online for customers.

However, recent scores found two-in-five pubs in the Black Country unsanitary grubs.
The study was commissioned by NoDepositDaily based on Food Standards Agency (FSA) data.
Results showed only 59.5 per cent of hospitality businesses passed hygiene standards.
Many bars, clubs, cafes, sandwich shops and takeaways in the UK's second largest city scored zero stars.

A spokesman for Birmingham City Council told the : "We are working hard to improve the condition of the city’s roads and carry our regular inspections.
"We aim to clear fly-tipping within two working days but white goods can take up to 14 days. If we have evidence we will prosecute."
The report comes as a Wetherspoon pub in Birmingham closed for renovations after being dubbed by customers the "worst pub in Britain".
The Square Peg came under fire from patrons for "rude staff" and "zero atmosphere".
It was closed for five weeks for works to provide it with an improved customer area and new bar.
The food inspections' results have also revealed the second-grubbiest city for eating out.
Salford in Greater Manchester has been declared the city with the worst restaurants,
Only 59 per cent of establishments have scored maximum food safety scores.
However, the results have also unveiled the best pubs in the country.
Lincoln has been crowned the highest-ranked city with the cleanest pubs in the country, according to the FSA website.
The city boasts 11 businesses with five out of five stars in food hygiene ratings, figures showed.
Mervin Davids from said: “Local authorities inspect food establishments every six months to a few years, depending on how much risk they pose.
"Not all businesses display their hygiene score, except for those in Wales and Northern Ireland, where this is required by law.
“If you have experienced food poisoning, found foreign objects in your food, purchased an expired meal, noticed unsanitary premises or the allergen information was unavailable or incorrect, you can contact the local council that business belongs to.
"They will then decide the right course of action so that other customers are safe.”
It comes as a pub that was said to have the "worst beer garden" in the UK has now closed.
The Brass Button in Motherwell became a laughing stock after a picture emerged of the boozer's beer garden.
