The Met Police confirmed the suspected criminal damage was to ULEZ cameras.

Fox is also being quizzed on suspicion of encouraging or assisting offences to be committed.

It comes as he was axed by GB News this afternoon over his vile on-air rant about a female journalist.

A Met spokesperson told The Sun: “He was arrested and has been taken to a South London police station where he remains in custody.”

Fox shared footage of the arrest on X (formerly Twitter).

He could be seen smoking a cigar as multiple officers walk around his living room.

The actor said: "Look how many coppers there are in my house...Coming to take everything out of my house.

"That ladies and gentlemen, is the country that we live in."

He then took a puff of his cigar and did a thumbs up to the camera before branding the Met officers "Sadiq’s Stasi”.

Fox added: "Have a lovely day. I’m going to spend my day in the clink innit.”

His arrest comes after the actor praised so-called ULEZ Bladerunners, who have been ripping down the cameras in London.

Fox encouraged the "mass removal of the surveillance state” on a stream on Rumble.

He also vowed to join agitators in tearing down the camera and promised to come along with an angle grinder.

The presenter added: "I would be happy to be arrested myself.”

GB News today revealed he has been fired saying it has “ended its employment relationship” with him.

A spokesperson said: "Laurence Fox and Calvin Robinson were both suspended last week pending internal investigations that have now concluded.

"As of today, GB News has ended its employment relationship with Laurence Fox and Calvin Robinson.

"The internal investigation into Dan Wootton continues."

It comes after Fox last week claimed no "self-respecting man" would "climb into bed" with journalist Ava Evans during a live interview with GB News host Dan Wootton.

The live discussion about PoliticsJOE reporter Evans was sparked by her views on why the UK shouldn't create a 'minister for men' to tackle a mental health crisis.

In a BBC Politics Live episode, Evans said the issue impacted all people and such a role would  "make an enemy out of women".

This prompted Fox to bite back during his GB News segment which resulted in a vicious, personal takedown of Evans.

He said: "We're past the watershed so I can say this… show me a single, self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman… ever… ever.

"That little woman has been fed, spoon-fed oppression day after day after day...

"We need powerful, strong, amazing women who make great points for themselves, we don't need these sort of feminist 4.0…

"They're pathetic and embarrassing. Who'd want to s**g that?"

Evans later said the segment made her feel “physically sick”.

She said on a JOE podcast: "I just think it speaks to a wider power dynamic that is sort of falling away now but definitely used to be there in the last few years."
