Streets evacuated after punter takes unexploded World War One bomb into pub in Swansea – after buying it at a car boot sale
Dozens of homes had to be evacuated after the bomb was taken into the pub

A PUNTER took an unexploded World War One bomb into a pub in Swansea after buying it as a DOORSTOP - causing dozens of homes to be evacuated.
Streets around The Pink Geranium in Pontardawe were on lockdown and homes evacuated after the device was taken into the pub earlier tonight.
Landlady Shan Thomas told The Sun a punter brought the enormous three-foot tall shell into the pub this afternoon after buying it at a car boot sale - and was planning to use it as a doorstop.
The 46-year-old said: "He brought it in for a drink, it's huge and it's really heavy.
"I looked at it and said 'that doesn't look like a doorstop, it looks like a bomb'.
"He said 'it's an old bomb, it's been disarmed'. But I said 'Can you categorically say 100% it's been disarmed?'
"One of the boys in the pub thought it was funny and ran up the road with it - and I phoned the police straight away.
"They said 'Shan, get everyone out of your pub now'."
South Wales Police said they were called at around 7.25pm on Wednesday to deal with the device - believed to be a relic from World War One - at the pub in Herbert Street.
The Army bomb squad has now removed the device and the area was declared safe just after 11.45pm.
A South Wales Police spokesman said: "We are able to confirm that the device found earlier in Pontardawe has now been removed by bomb disposal and the area declared safe.
"We would like to thank the public and local residents for their patience."
Police said earlier residents were evacuated from their homes "as a precaution" and asked people to steer clear of the area.
But locals didn't appear too alarmed on social media, with one joking that he "hopes it's just a Jagerbomb", while another said the town "truly knows how to sesh".
A police spokesman said earlier: "Police have cordoned off a road in the Pontardawe area of Swansea following a call received around 7.30pm that what is believed to be a World War one explosive device had been found at that location.
"The device has been isolated and a number of local residents evacuated from their homes as a precautionary measure.
"Explosive Ordnance Disposal will be in attendance to make the device safe.
"The public are asked to stay out of the area and are thanked for their ongoing patience in this matter."
