100 army troops sent to Lincolnshire to tackle extreme UK weather with snow storms set to batter Britain

ARMY troops have been sent to Lincolnshire as snow storms threaten to batter Britain.
About 100 soldiers from A Company, 2 Yorks, are being deployed ready to respond as multiple weather warnings are issued.
Sources said they will be working with emergency services to react to blizzards expected to move in over the coming days.
Heavy snow has already caused major disruption with Heathrow Airport cancelling 80 flights and commuters stuck on grid-locked roads.
Blizzard-like conditions have already hit Scotland this morning including Lanarkshire and East Kilbride with snow also sweeping across northern England in areas such as Yorkshire, Manchester and Leeds.
