UK weather: Met Office issues SNOW warning as ‘heavy rain’ risks flooding, travel delays & ‘difficult’ road conditions

THE Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and snow next week.
Forecasters said low pressure is likely to dominate bringing heavy showers and longer spells of rain across the UK.
It also issued a yellow weather alert for rain and snow covering much of Scotland's north east from midnight until midday on Tuesday.
The Met Office warning read: "Rain and snow has the potential to cause disruption in places, mainly to travel, with snow focused over high ground."
There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded by the downpours.
Floods could also spark train and bus delays - and even some cancellations.
Wet roads will make for tricky driving, with some road closures possible.
And several rural communities in the Highlands could be cut off by flooding.
The weather forecast today is largely dry with sunny spells, but it is likely to turn unsettled on Monday.
The Environment Agency has issued three flood warnings and 63 alerts in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile millions of Brits are being warned they could face a Bank Holiday washout.
With the four-day weekend just around the corner, much of the country was hoping for sunny spells and warmer temperatures.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said it will be "unsettled across the majority of the UK" next week.
Strong gusts of winds and intense rain is expected to batter Brits in the run-up to the mini break.
The weather service said: "Through the bank holiday weekend and into the following week, unsettled or changeable weather remains the most likely outcome.
"All areas are likely to see further rain or showers at times, with some drier spells in between, but wet weather will tend to favour the southwest while northern parts remain a bit drier on average."
Today:
A drier day than Saturday with plenty of sunny spells and lighter winds, though breezy for a time in the east.
A few showers around, these generally easing. Turning cloudier in the far west later. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine.
Tonight:
Cloudier in the west with outbreaks of rain gradually pushing northeastwards.
Drier elsewhere with clear spells and light winds, with a patchy frost possible in rural spots.
Monday:
Dry and bright start in the north and east. Cloudier and breezier in the west with spells of rain pushing northeastwards, turning heavy at times and wintry in Scotland.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Low pressure is likely to dominate through this period, bringing heavy showers and longer spells of rain throughout.
Temperatures around average for the time of year.
