Iran launches missile as ‘warning shot to the US’ just days after Trump initiates ban on migrants from seven countries
US calls for probe after Iran launches nuke-ready missiles despite United Nations banning the country from carrying out ballistic missile tests

US OFFICIALS fear Iran's launch of a ballistic missile could have been in response to Donald Trump's 'Muslim ban'.
The nuke-seeking Iranians fired a medium-range rocket on Sunday in defiance of the United Nations.
It exploded in mid-air before hitting its test target.
A Pentagon official said: "The Khorramshahr medium-range ballistic missile flew 600 miles before exploding, in a failed test of a re-entry vehicle."
The launch timing raises the prospect that Tehran tested the weapon in response to Trump's decision to stop Iranians entering the US for at least 90 days.

Iran yesterday responded by putting in place a similar ban for US citizens as improving relations between the Middle Eastern nation and the US fell apart overnight.
Washington DC is now pushing the UN to investigate the launch of the nuke-ready missile.
State Department spokesman Mark Toner said: "We will act to hold Iran accountable and urge other countries to do so as well."
Tehran has previously pledged to stop testing nuclear-ready missiles until at least 2025.
But Trump's controversial ban saw the Iranians vow to "retaliate".
A foreign ministry statement read: "Iran will implement the principle of reciprocity until the offensive U.S. limitations against Iranian nationals are lifted.
"The restrictions against travel by Muslims to America are an open affront against the Muslim world and the Iranian nation in particular and will be known as a great gift to extremists."
