Corrie McKeague’s mum appeals for an end to speculation body found on side of the M40 100 miles away could be missing RAF gunner

THE DESPERATE mum of missing RAF gunner Corrie McKeague has begged people to stop speculating that a body found 100 miles away could belong to her son.
The human remains were discovered on the side of the M40 motorway in Buckinghamshire on Saturday and people have been quick to link the two cases.
Corrie, 23, mysteriously vanished on a night out in September in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, which is 100 miles away from where the remains were found.
His mum has now urged social media users to stop speculating that the body could belong to the RAF gunner.
Writing on the Finding Corrie Facebook page last night, Nicola Urquhart from Dunfermline, Fife said: “To all those sending links to the M40 for the human remains found.
“There is nothing to initially suggest this is corrie, DNA is being checked, this will take a little time.
“There will be an update provided when possible, please remember, this is somebody's child so please don't put any posts up in relation to this.”
Thames Valley Police launched an investigation after the grisly discovery was made by members of the public looking for a dog on the M40 near High Wycombe, Bucks.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said: “There’s nothing to suggest it’s Corrie at this stage but obviously we have to wait for DNA results from Thames Valley Police.”
A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police said they couldn’t comment at this stage but said that an update on the situation would be given later on this afternoon.
Dad-to-be Corrie was out with friends on September 24 but became separated while leaving the Flex nightclub in Bury St Edmunds and may have tried to walk the ten miles back to his base at RAF Honington.
Despite a wide-scale search by police, there have been no leads in the hunt for the serviceman.
Police last week released new CCTV images of a mystery man who could hold the key to Corrie's whereabouts.
