A MAN has been found dead two days after being savagely beaten on a feud-gripped estate.

Scott Wilson’s body was discovered in a high-rise a few minutes’ walk from the ambush spot.

It is unclear how he’d travelled from Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital — where he’d been rushed with serious injuries after the bloody ambush less than 48 hours earlier — to the tower block in the city’s Drumchapel.

We can also reveal he was one of four men arrested in connection with weapons allegations a week earlier.

The charges against the 52-year-old and another man were dropped, leaving two suspects aged 28 and 25 facing firearm raps.

Last night Police Scotland said the tragedy was “unexplained”.

A spokesman said: “Around 2.30am on Sunday, June, 2, police received a report of the death of a 52-year-old man within a property in Linkwood Crescent, Glasgow.

“The death is being treated as unexplained. Inquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”

We told how two ambushers left a trail of blood when they pounced on Mr Wilson near the district library the previous Friday.

Horrified onlookers raised the alarm before cops locked down the scene and launched a hunt for the assailants.

Bystanders told of fears underworld tensions are spiralling out of control — as pictures showed a street close to a primary school and play park spattered with blood.

Locals claimed it was the latest in a spree of clashes linked to an escalating feud between rivals.

One resident, who saw the aftermath of the attack while drinking in the nearby Butty bar, said: “Somebody said two other guys are supposed to have punched him.

“He’s fallen to the ground. It wasn’t until later on that I heard he’d been stabbed several times.

“I saw the guy on the ground. He was on the pavement outside Drumchapel Library.”
