Pal V is taking orders for the Liberty Sport and Liberty Pioneer - a pair of two-person cars that can turn into helicopters within minutes.

The manufacturer will begin by making its luxury edition, the Liberty Pioneer, at a cost of £4,000.

This includes a "familiarisation course" by a flight instructor and introductory training sessions near the customers' home.

It will make 90 editions before turning to the cheaper Liberty Sport, which can be reserved at the price of £255,000.

The three-wheeler will feel more like you are driving a motorcycle, but with the comfort of a car, thanks to its tilting system.

It can reach speeds of 100mph on the road and can fly up to 4,000ft in the air.

The car is road and air worthy, but drivers will need a pilots' license to operate one, as well as 40 hours flying time under their belt.

Several hospitals, government institutions and tourism companies have been looking into the cars, PAL-V's chief executive officer Robert Dingemase claimed.

He said: "PAL-V is now nearing an exciting phase for its continued business growth, namely fulfilling the first client orders.

"While other flying car manufacturers’ concepts require modified regulations and in many cases not yet existing technologies, PAL-V deliberately chose to engineer, design and build a flying car with proven technologies and fully compliant with existing regulations."
