PARENTS have been left fuming after a paddling pool was closed down because of one user's "disgusting" actions.
Congleton Paddling Pool in Cheshire, usually packed with kids, was shuttered this week.
Nappies had been flushed down the toilet, causing a major blockage and leaving the pool unusable.
The pool, run by Congleton Town Council, usually offers two sessions a day for up to 140 swimmers, leaving many disappointed.
The site normally operates a morning session from 10am to 1pm and another later in the day from 2pm to 5pm.
The selfish action led many to turn to social media to voice their anger.

One Facebook user wrote: “Unbelievable. How can people do that?
"It’s disgusting. Use the bins, don’t flush down the toilets. You’re spoiling the swimming pool for the children.”
Another said: “Always one who ruins it for everyone because they can’t be bothered to use the bins provided.”
Another added: “So annoying. My only day off tomorrow to bring kids down and someone ruined it for my kids! Some really stupid selfish people out there!”

While someone else wrote: “Why am I not surprised. That’s now extra cost to the council and a day spoilt for everyone else. Selfish comes to mind. Should start to charge for entry to the pool to cover these types of costs.”
And another said: "Year’s ago I could take my children to the paddling pool any time of day thank goodness.”
It comes after a booking system which was previously introduced was suddenly dropped after an apparent issue with no-shows.
A spokesperson for Congleton Town Council said: "Congleton Paddling Pool is a popular free attraction run by the Town Council.
"On Wednesday 24th we advertised that we were closed as we didn’t have a working toilet as someone had blocked the drains by flushing a nappy down the toilet.
"A local maintenance company responded quickly and we only had to delay the start of the afternoon session by 30 minutes.
"Signage states that nappies and sanitary products must be disposed of in the bin provided."
The town council has since to remind all pool users to not flush nappies or sanitary products down the toilet.
