A FIVE-year-old boy battling leukaemia is using a telepresence robot so he can still attend school.
The little boy, known only as Brodie, has been off sick from his Brisbane school in Australia while he gets treatment for the disease.
But scared of missing out on fun with his friends, the youngster complained to his parents about being out of the classroom.
So in a desperate bid to make him happy, his parents created the robot using an iPad on wheels.
Footage filmed inside the school reveals how Brodie is able to virtually cruise around the classroom, attend reading groups, and see his friends - while in bed.
One of his classmates can be heard shouting, "look at him go" as he whizzes around.
Later Brodie can be seen joining in with a lesson, as he answers questions from the teacher during a reading group session.
Impressed onlookers commented on the video, saying: "This is brilliant, takes the isolation out of isolated for sick children with life threatening illnesses who would otherwise be unable to attend their regular school. Hope to see more of it."
Another added: "Fantastic work by this school to make sure young Brodie remains a part of the community and his class during a tough time in his life."
While someone else said: "This is great, more sick kids should be able to video into their class so they can interact with their teaches and school mates. All the very best Brodie, hang in there."
