Boy, 9, struck by van in horror ‘hit and run’ crash while walking to school as cops launch urgent hunt for driver

Cops issued an update on the boy's condition

A BOY has been struck by a van in a horror hit and run crash while walking to school.

The white vehicle collided with the nine-year-old on Middleton Road in Pickering, North Yorkshire, on September 13 at around 8.45am.

The white van involved did not stop after the child was struck, police said.

The child sustained a slight injury and was shaken up, the force added.

Cops are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We're appealing for any witnesses to the incident, anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
