Human skull found during renovations work on millionaire’s Scots estate

A HUMAN skull was found by workers during renovations at a millionaire's Scottish estate.
The grim discovery was made at Badentarbat Lodge in Coigach - a peninsula just north of Ullapool in the northwest Highlands.
Philanthropist Ian Wace made an offer to buy the idyllic Highland land last year.
His offer was accepted by the Coigach Community Development Company (CCDC) in October.
Much of the land will be used to build affordable homes for members of the local community.
But workers discovered the human remains while working on a property on the estate.
Police were called to the scene to investigate the disturbing find.
Officers began probing whether there was any foul play involved in the death.
However they learned the bones were actually historic.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.25am on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, we received a report of human remains discovered during renovation work at a property near Achiltibuie.

The Badentarbat Estate was bought my Mr Wace for £2.75m.
He purchased the land to return it to the community, with a portion of it kept for himself.
The estate takes up a significant portion of the peninsula.
It features pristine beaches and stunning coastlines.
