Man charged after car rams into Army barracks before driver ‘jumped out & shouted at guards’ & bomb squad swooped in

A MAN has been charged after a knifeman rammed his vehicle through the barriers before threatening guards at a disused army barracks.
Cops raced to reports of a man trying to enter the St Omer Barracks in Aldershot at around 4.30pm on Friday.
The man had allegedly driven through the barriers before getting out of the car, shouting at the guards and damaging the outside of the car with a knife.
Police said the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) also attended because of comments the man made but there was no explosive threat and no one was hurt.
The force has confirmed the attack is not currently being treated as terror-related.
On Sunday, Jason Pellatt, 54, of no fixed abode, was charged with possessing a knife in a public place, dangerous driving, assault of an emergency worker and affray.

Pellatt is due to appear in custody at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Monday.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "A man has been charged with offences including possession of a knife and dangerous driving as part of investigation into an incident at St Omer Barracks in Aldershot.
"Police were called at 4:30pm on Saturday 8 March to reports that a man had attempted to enter the St Omer Barracks in Aldershot.
"It was reported that the man had driven through the barriers before exiting the car, shouting at the guards and damaging the outside of the car with a knife.

"Officers attended and, due to comments made by the man, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team also attended, but confirmed there was no explosive threat. No one was hurt.
"Jason Pellatt, 54, of no fixed abode was arrested and charged with the following: possessing a knife in a public place, dangerous driving, assault of an emergency worker and affray.
"He has been remanded into custody to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Monday 10 March.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, but at this time, it is not being treated as a terrorism related incident."
A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said: "The incident is being dealt with by Hampshire Police."
