Met Office reveals Mother’s Day forecast as hail, thunder & SNOW to hit in just hours – but will it turn sunny near you?
THE Met Office is warning of hail, thunder and snow to hit in just hours ahead of Mother's Day - with some areas forecast for sunshine.
The forecast coincides with clocks going forward, as Brits brace for a chilly end to the week.
Those in southern parts will feel a big chill today with big clouds forming and expected outbreaks of rain in the morning.
The Met Office has warned the cold spell will extend until tomorrow when temperatures are expected to turn slightly milder.
Clear skies overnight will also mean it will feel quite chilly with even some frost forming in certain places.
The cooler temperatures are also due to give way to some mist and fog tomorrow morning for those in the South East.

Meanwhile, those living in the Highlands are expected to wake up to a dusting of snow as temperatures plummet overnight.
In the North West, Meteorologist Honor Criswick warned a band of cloud and rain will slowly edge its way across the area, whilst strong winds and even gales are predicted in parts of Wales, Devon and Cornwall.

However, for some lucky Brits in East Anglia and Sussex heavy rain will likely give way to some "sunny spells" at the start of next week.

Temperatures will hover around 11C and 12C across most parts of England with some south eastern areas reaching 14C.
Honor said: "Areas in the south where we see sunshine, 16C is definitely possible.
"But it really depends how long that cloud sticks around across the southeast."
This comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for fog yesterday, with drivers facing difficult conditions.
The extreme weather caused traffic chaos for commuters, whilst similar conditions put flights at risk of being cancelled earlier this week.
The warning stated: "Not everywhere will see fog, but where fog patches do occur, visibility may fall below 100 metres in places, leading to difficult driving conditions and some travel disruption."

Rain across the south clearing to the east by lunchtime, leaving a blustery day of sunny spells and some showers. The showers mainly across the north and west, with some heavy and possibly thundery. Feeling cooler than recently.
Tonight:
Showers becoming confined to northern and western coasts, leaving clearing skies elsewhere. Winds also easing, allowing it to turn chilly inland with a slight frost in places.
Saturday:
A band of rain moves east across Scotland and Northern Ireland throughout the day. A largely fine and sunny start elsewhere, but cloud and patchy rain reaching the west later.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Largely fine for many on Sunday, although some patchy rain reaching the west later. Rain lingering in the north Monday, but dry, bright and warmer for most on Tuesday.
