Mum of ‘thief’ chased by Tom Hardy in Hollywood-style chase says she hopes ‘mentally-ill’ teen will now seek help

THE mum of the teenager arrested by Hollywood heartthrob Tom Hardy said she hopes the incident leads to her 'mentally ill' son getting help.
The on-screen tough guy, 39, sprinted after the 16-year-old after he allegedly crashed a stolen moped and fled.
His mum told : “This isn’t a scummy, naughty child. People with mental health issues need support and cry out for help in many different ways.”
She said her son had conditions including ADHD, conduct disorder and autism.
The mum-of-three added: “I’m desperate for him to get the help he needs.”

The Legend, Batman and Taboo star vaulted walls as he sprinted after the boy.
Arun Pullen, 22, said: “It was mental - like he’d switched to superhero mode in an action movie.
“Tom must have been walking down the road. He went off like a shot in pursuit and looked furious."
Arun watched as the actor, who lives nearby in Richmond, South West London, hauled the alleged thief into a bus stop.
Arun added: “I asked Tom what happened and he told me he chased him through my back garden and caught him around the block — but the route was like an assault course.”
Two suspects were arrested on suspicion of theft and taking a vehicle without consent.
Tom Hardy’s spokeswoman declined to comment.
The Mirror report that the boy is now on police bail.
