AN AXE-wielding student has killed a female university worker after launching a "brutal" rampage at a university in Poland.
A security guard, 39, was also seriously injured in the horror attack at Warsaw University on Wednesday.

The police have arrested a 22-year-old Polish man following the incident.
The third-year law student reportedly walked onto the university campus brandishing the axe at around 6.40pm Polish time.
He launched the devastating attack shortly afterwards - killing a woman on the spot.
The tragic woman worked as a university porter and was making her final rounds before the building closed.

A heroic security guard tried to overcome the attacker but was wounded several times.
The brave man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition but it has since been confirmed that there is no threat to his life.
Private broadcaster Polsat News reported that a severed head had been recovered alongside the axe and a body.
A spokesperson for the police confirmed that the person who died was a female administrator who worked at the university.

But they refused to comment on the grim reports of a severed head.
The attacker is thought to have entered the grounds through the university's lecture theatre.

The brutal murder was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, according to the prosecutor's office.
Warsaw Police said: "Police have detained a man who entered the University of Warsaw campus.
"One person died, another was taken to hospital with injuries," in a post on X.
In a statement, the University of Warsaw said: "Ladies and Gentlemen, today in the afternoon the University of Warsaw Community was struck by a huge tragedy.
"Our colleague, a UW employee, was brutally murdered.
"The perpetrator was arrested. We express our great sorrow and sympathy to the family and loved ones.
"A university guard was also seriously injured. Due to the current situation, I am declaring tomorrow, May 8, 2025, a day of mourning at the University of Warsaw.
"On behalf of the entire University of Warsaw community. Rector and College of Rectors of the University of Warsaw."
The 22 year-old attacker was caught shortly after the attack as university guards worked with the cops.
A linguistics student at the university on the scene told : "The perpetrator seemed insane, he was delirious, he said shocking things about what he wanted to do to this woman."
News of the attack spread quickly and has left university students terrified.
A student at the university's law school, Gabriela, told : It's terrifying that we could have passed the perpetrator in the hallway and gone to classes together."

While another student said: "What happened to this woman could have happened to any of us."
In addition to the day of mourning on Thursday a ceremonial commemoration of the murdered university worker will take place.
