Man, 42, arrested in murder probe after body of missing person pulled from river two days after he vanished
A MAN has been arrested after the body of a missing person was pulled from a river two days after he vanished.
The body of the unnamed person, who went missing last Thursday, was found at around 7.15pm on Saturday in Rotherham.
A 42-year-old has been arrested and remains in police custody.
Cops said that inquiries remain ongoing and a police presence will remain in the area over the next few days.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Ben Wood said he knows the horror find would cause "considerable concern among the local community' and insists cops are "working extremely hard to piece together the events which have led to this man's tragic death."
He added: "At the heart of this investigation is a man who has lost his life and a grieving family who are now coming to terms with that loss.
