Mum drags three kids to safety as tumble dryer BURSTS into flames and burns down her flat
Becky Jeffries, 27, spotted flames engulfing the machine and was left devastated after losing her family home

A MUM dragged her children to safety as her new tumble dryer burst into flames, burning down her home.
Becky Jeffries, 27, spotted flames engulfing the machine and grabbed her three young kids from the bath before fleeing the flat.
She said: “Plumes of smoke were pouring out. There was no time even to get the kids dressed. We just ran for the front door. I’ve lost my home. I’m devastated.”
“I just grabbed them and ran out the front door. It felt like the whole house was going to blow up.
“Luckily enough we were all on the same floor otherwise I don’t think we would have been able to get out of the fire.
“I threw the kids in the car and tried to get back into the house to grab a few things but it was impossible.
“I’ve lost all our family photos. They’re gone forever.”

Becky paid £149 for the White Knight C372WV dryer from Argos weeks earlier. Firefighters could not save the ground floor council flat in Romford, East London.
Becky, Harry and Charlie, both four, and Lilly-Mai, two, are in temporary accommodation. The dryer, which caught fire 13 minutes into its cycle, is being probed by White Knight.
It previously recalled fire-risk models in 2012. Tumble dryers are the second biggest cause of house fires.
Argos said: “Safety is always our top priority and we would ask Mrs Jeffries to contact us directly so we can investigate this worrying incident with our supplier.”
