Just one batch has been affected in the recall and customers can return their affected products for a full refund

The almond extract has been mistakenly labelled as the vanilla extract posing a nut allergy risk.

Anyone who has bought the product is being urged to return it immediately for a full refund.

No other Aldi products are known to be affected.

Aldi said: "As a precautionary measure we are recalling a single batch of Moroccan Almond Extract as it has been incorrectly labelled as Madagascan Vanilla Extract.

"The product contains almond which is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to almonds."

Just one batch has been affected in the recall - and punters who bought The Pantry Madagascan Vanilla Extract, batch: L 7058, with ‘best-before’ date: 12/12/17 and pack size: 38ml can return the product to their nearest store for a full refund.

"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

"These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product."
