Cops warning over deadly 100 per cent pure cocaine being sold on British streets
At least two deaths and several overdoses linked to the super-strength coke flooding the illicit drugs market in Eastbourne, Sussex

POLICE have issued a serious health warning after two deaths were linked to a batch of super-strength cocaine being sold on British streets.
Some coke seized recently by cops in Sussex has been as much as 100 per cent pure — hugely increasing the likelihood of overdose.
Two people died in Eastbourne in connection with the highly potent cocaine and heroin flooding the illicit market, police said.
Most cocaine on sale in the UK is adulterated, with the white powder being cut with sugar or even more harmful chemicals to stretch out profit for careless dealers.
Recent estimates have suggested that the cocaine on sale in London is rarely more than 25 per cent pure.

Det Insp Neil Ralph said: “Since April there have been a number of drug overdoses in the town and two drug-related deaths.
“We investigate all drug overdoses and drug-related deaths and look to identify who has supplied the drugs and seek a prosecution.

Det Insp Ralph warned: “Taking drugs in any form is dangerous, particularly when the user does not know the purity of the drug.”
