Tragic Peter died after suffering more than 50 injuries over an eighth-month campaign of sickening abuse.

The toddler was seen by a string of social workers, the Metropolitan Police and health professional who all missed warning signs that could have saved his life.

Barker was the boyfriend of Peter's evil mum Tracey Connelly who was caged for six years for her role in his death.

His brother Jason Owen was handed a six-year-old sentence for allowing the toddler to die at his home in Tottenham, north London on August 3, 2007.

Barker is also serving life with a minimum of 10 years for raping a two-year-old boy.

Today the Parole Board turned down his bid to be freed.

A spokesman said: "We can confirm that a panel of the Parole Board has not directed the release of Steven Barker at a paper hearing.

"Under current legislation Mr Barker will be eligible for a further review within two years.

"The date of the next review will be set by the Ministry of Justice."

Tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary of Baby P's death.
