‘Barking mad’ driver caught by cops on the M25 at the wheel with a dog on his lap
Police handed a £100 fine to an irresponsible driver who let his pooch sit on his lap on Britain's busiest motorway

A DRIVER was fined £100 and given three penalty points after cops caught him at the wheel with a dog on his lap.
The black and white animal had its paws on the steering wheel and was looking through the windscreen.
Traffic cops pulled the driver over between junctions 8 and 9 of the M25, near Reigate, Surrey.
They tweeted a picture and said the driver must have been “barking mad” to drive that way.
Local Pauline Wells, writing on the Tandridge Beat (Surrey Police) Facebook page, said: "Barking mad!"
Nick Rogers joked: "Eyes on the road and both paws on the steering wheel, seems reasonable."
Frances Withers wrote: "What an idiot!"
A Surrey Police spokesman said it was an offence for a dog to be unsecured “anywhere within the vehicle” according to Rule 57 of the Highway Code.
