Rose West whinging about being kept in upstairs cell ‘because her knees hurt’
The serial killer has started moaning about the pain in her legs after prison bosses keep moving her to second floor cells where she struggles to walk upstairs
KILLER Rose West moans she struggles to walk up stairs to second floor cells as her knees hurt.
And she gets moved every 28 days over fears she will dig her way out of jail.
But West complains she is kept in cells on the upper landing which she finds hard to get to.
Prison bosses are so worried she may try to escape she is not allowed a corner cell as it has two outside walls which could increase her chances.
An ex con said: “Rose has really bandy legs that give her constant pain. She’s always moaning about them and really struggles to get up and down stairs.”
West, 63, got life in 1995 for her part in ten murders, including her daughter.
Husband Fred, 53, buried some bodies in the garden of their home in Gloucester.
He hanged himself in jail while awaiting trial.
She is now on F wing at Low Newton prison in Durham and classed as Restricted Status, the female equivalent of a high security Category A male prisoner.
The source said: “In theory all prisoners of that level are supposed to be moved every 28 days but in reality it doesn’t happen due to lack of resources.
“It’s a mark of how Rose is still seen that she most definitely gets moved every 28 days.”
She added: “People used to be scared of Rose.
"She still thinks she’s the boss of the wing but she’s pretty frail now. She has this issue with her legs and her eyesight is failing. She couldn’t boss anyone about any more.”
