Hugh Hefner, 91, died of heart failure and septicemia after contracting drug-resistant strain of e-coli

HUGH Hefner died of cardiac arrest and respiratory failure.
The 91-year-old Playboy founder’s death certificate reveals he was been battling E. coli and blood poisoning for six days before dying.
The document obtained by New York Post explains that Hefner’s infection was “highly resistant to antibiotics”.
The cultural icon passed away in his famed mansion in Los Angeles on September 27.
He was laid to rest in a private memorial Saturday.
On Monday, Hefner’s wife Crystal made her first statement since his passing.
She told : “I am heartbroken. I am still in disbelief.
“He gave me life. He gave me direction. He taught me kindness.
“I will feel eternally grateful to have been by his side, holding his hand, and telling him how much I love him.
“He changed my life, he saved my life. He made me feel loved every single day.”
Hefner's fortune will be split between his four children from two of his previous marriages.
His daughter Christie, aged 64, and son David, 62, were from his first marriage to Mildred Williams.
He tied the knot with Mildred in 1949, but the couple split nine years later after she admitted she had cheated on him while he was serving in the Army.
The entrepreneur spent almost three decades as a bachelor before settling down with Kimberley Conrad, the 1989 Playmate of the Year.
