MEDIA mogul Harvey Weinstein is said to have compiled a "hit list" of almost a 100 actors and industry figures in a bid to quash the sex scandal erupting around him.

Those on the secret list were reportedly targeted as Weinstein, 65, desperately tried to discover who knew what and who was going public.

The list, seen by , is said to contain the names of 91 actors as well as publicists, producers, financiers and others from within the film industry.

It was reportedly drawn up by the disgraced producer and distributed to a team in a bid to quash claims of sexual harassment early in 2017.

It is said to contain the names of 43 men and 48 women including Rose McGowan, Sophie Dix and Laura Madden.

The names of the actresses, who have all spoken out against Weinstein, were reportedly among those highlighted in red.

The Observer reports that the words "very bitter" were written next to Madden's name suggesting she had already been approached.

The shamed media mogul is being treated at the Meadows rehab centre, in Arizona, after he was accused of abusing and preying upon women in the entertainment industry.

On October 5 the New York Times published an investigation outlining several allegations against him.

In a series of tweets on October 12 Charmed actress McGowan said Weinstein had raped her and claimed that Amazon Studios had ignored her complaints.

She tweeted: "I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn't been proven. I said I was the proof."

Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and Cara Delevingne are among the many high-profile figures to join dozens of women accusing the movie mogul of sexual harassment and assault.

Weinstein has “unequivocally denied” claims of non-consensual sex.

In a statement his lawyers added: “Mr Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”

In the wake of the scandal, Weinstein has now been forced out of his own company and had a number of industry honours revoked.
